No wonder I suck now, I used to do that a couple of years ago in high school. Was in the best shape of my life, I need to return.

Don't forget concentration. You can zone out while running or biking, but you have to keep your mind firming on the task at hand while jump roping. 3 minutes without yourind wandering at all is incredibly difficult

Pro tip: once the jump rope rhythm has become second nature, you could try watching your favourite show at the same time, makes the time fly by faster while jump roping and it also helps to keep you at a steady pace.

It will be hard in the beginning, you might feel sour in your calf's and neck muscles. But the effects are truly amazing!

I found that jumping rope is the best way to lower my resting heart rate. When I jump rope 3-4x a week (nothing fancy just 3 mins on, 1 min off x 5 rounds), my resting heart rate drops to the low 40's.

It's the best exercise. Keeps you in shape and fit. Helps to be a better athlete, sports, labor work, just overall in life. Cost less than 10 bucks and fits in your pocket. You can take anywhere and you can do it anywhere.

I'm sure I'll be laughed at for this, but I I regularly use a "ropeless" jumprope. It's two handles with bearings and light weights connected that give it an identical feel to turning a jumprope, but minus the actual rope. It's a game changer for low ceilings, hotel rooms or other environments where actual jumping may not be feasible, and you can use it outside in the grass or on gravel, etc. -- surfaces you couldn't otherwise jump on. Plus, you can choose whether you want to leave the ground each jump, or lightly bounce on your toes (if perhaps working around an injury, or too much bodyweight to safely jump).

Love jump roping. I do it as a part of my warm up before strength training and at the end of my mobility routine on rest days. It’s quite fun until you miss the skip and hit your bare toes or shin haha.

Been doing it for 2 years now, everytime I go to the gym I need my hour of jumprope. It really helps & I can eat literally whatever I want but I still choose to eat healthy. My cardio is crazy too

And if your forces to workout indoors, you can mimick the movement by bouncing on your toes without the rope, still a great workout.

When I was in my intermediate at starting I couldn't even do 100 continuously so, i have kept a challenge that i should do 100 continuously if i stop or stumble before completing 100 even if get stumble at 99 would start with 1 again.

Later i started to challenged myself and seen a world record where for one min 280skippings have done, and I trained myself daily doing 2k-3k skippings atlast I could only achieve upto 250skippings per min. And later do not what's the reason i stopped skipping.

But it gives super human reflexes, agility, coordination and can jump higher than most of the people around, endurance and run fast, run for long period....

It's also a great way to transition into jogging, helps ready those bouncy muscles and tendons at the end of your legs for the stress of running while also building cardio endurance. Love me some jump rope
