In my opinion, the Simplified Kjv is an Update to the Kjv as the Creators of it claim. As for the MEV, I'm not sure if it's as faithful to Updatiing the Kjv as the Simplified Kjv is?

The update between in 1769 was not a retranslation. The MEV is a retranslation of the Hebrew and Greek. That's not an update, that's a new translation. By his logic, the KJV is actually the Bishops Bible. Which means the MEV is actually the Bishops Bible.

I really enjoy reading the MEV bible. It isnt nearly as elegant as my modern KJV or 1611 KJV but it sure is nice to read such a smooth modern translation of old english and is easy to compare versus side by side to aide in understanding.
