When Jim’s own band mates, who spent so much time with him, couldn’t even tell if they were listening to Jim or Val, THAT is the sign of a gifted actor. I’m a massive fan of Val Kilmer. I’m not surprised that he nailed that role. Personally, I think it’s spooky just how accurate he was. Makes me wonder.

Val's performance deserved an Oscar... But the film has many inaccuracies and they show the worst side of Morrison... Jim was a better and more interesting person and artist than what the film shows, in which half of what appears is fiction

Eye all ways thought Mr. Kilmer deserved an Oscar as an actor! But the greatest compliment to Val Kilmer as an actor was in my humble opinion was getting my VHS tape of The Doors by someone in the Yukon Territory of Canada for Val’s Indian dance scenes !LMAO❤❤❤

He didn't look like Jim? Respectfully, Robby, I strongly disagree. Val had a striking resemblance to Jim and shared most of his features: the strong jaw line, full lips, piercing eyes. Val was the perfect choice. 🦎

He done great, but I still can’t believe Oliver, or any of the Doors could be fooled into not knowing who’s voice was who’s. Jims voice is so better and so easy to recognize.

I don't think he looked much like Jim. Jim had more refined features, a different nose and lips. In the film, I never thought "hey that could be Jim." But he looked similar enough with a similar haircut that he did a credible job portraying him.

Kilmer looked more like Andy Gibb crossed with Jim rather than a total Jim lookalike. I think Jason Patric would been a good choice too.
