I was in Fresno. I took my ten year old son out of school. I went ahead with my one year old daughter's eye exam.
My husband and I put on a front for my son. He was spooked, especially because he had been watching it all in his classroom and the teacher said we are going to war.
I grew up 90 miles from the city and had a brother who worked on that day just blocks from the trade center.
It took him all day to get out of the city and get home. He had no phone service either.
My nephew was soon deployed to Afghanistan and served 3 tours.

Honestly, that day. I had a dream that a plane crashed in the parking lot of the apartments that I was saying in but when I walked up to the plane crash, the plane was the size of a soccer ball. When I wake up. The first plane going to the twin towers.

I was in first hour 8th grade gym class. A kid ran into thw gym and yelled "a plane just crashed into the twin towers!". I admit, I had no idea what they were at the time. I got into second period and the science teacher had it on the television. Not long after we started watching the second plane hit. When it hit the realization hit me that it wasn't an accident. I was shocked. We watched the TV all day in every class. That day forever changed me.

Was downtown Houston doing tax work at Andersen. Not long after this Andersen was shut down by DOJ for Enron scandal. That first professional job was a hell of an entry to the real world.
