No I wouldn't. Pay $500K to own 60% of a leasehold in Vancouver. I'd rather pay the same $500K and contact a good realtor to find me an older wood strata condo in Richmond or New West near skytrain to own 100% of that freehold.

Leasehold is already a gamble. It's basically rent payable via a loan. The appreciation is usually equal to inflation, meaning there would not be much gains and you leave your kids nothing

It's government guaranteed appreciation. Those not bullish on real estate in BC and most of Canada are Krazy, the government at all levels is telling you, YO we are going to make this go up... and we got your back.

If the BC government would stop interfering with commerce and taxing the hell out of us, we wouldn’t be having these issues to begin with. We are way over governed and regulated. End the BC NDP.
