When I was a kid growing up that was like my dream transmission

A friend of mine has a 1970 Boss Mustang with a 429 and some kind of version of a 3 speed transmission with a factory version of this and got it from his father who was friends with Ford and paid 6K in 1970 for the car and the 5 th and final car that had what Ford call the lightning shift C6 in the car, even reverse was a button and a rod that was pulled out and pulled backwards to get the car to back up and they were pushed forward to run it through the gears.

My 68 AMX is punch and coast. A PITA on the street, and she gets hot quickly. I'll be putting in another milder 390 and changing out the 5:1 rear too. 50mph burnouts a bit risky on the street.
