I thought this movie was an appropriate sequal. I feel the director was attempting to correct misinterpretations of the 1st Joker; people thought he was cool. He wasnt, hes a tragic figure. He's not THE Joker. Thats why he called himself 'Joker', not THE Joker.

Dude the only reason that movie sucked was ending I believe we deserve a Justice League treatment here and we get a new ending

Honestly, I believe most reactions are parroting each other and just jumping on the bandwagon. It was a beautiful movie, and not a musical in any meaningful sense
