Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) Checking method, #Shorts
By using DMM (Digital Multimeter) we can check the MOSFETs, whether they are OK or Faulty,
Using DMM's Diode test mode,

There are two types of MOSFET's
1) P-channel MOSFET, and 2) N-channel MOSFET
MOSFET's have three terminals Gate, Source, and Drain,

To test MOSFET, Keep the MOSFET on dry wooden table, with printed side and leads pointing toward you,

N-channel MOSFET checking method:
With meter probe or a screw driver short the Gate and Drain pins, This will completely discharges the internal capacitance of the MOSFET,

Now connect the Red probe of DMM to the Drain of the MOSFET, and the Black probe of DMM to the Source of the MOSFET, You should see an "OL" reading on the DMM.

Now keeping the Black probe of DMM touched to the Source, lift the Red probe of DMM from Drain and just touch it to the Gate of the MOSFET and bring it back to the Drain pin.
This time the DMM shows Continuity reading, This confirms the MOSFET is OK.


P-channel MOSFET checking method:
Checking of P-channel MOSFET is Just opposite to the N-channel MOSFET,
With meter probe or a screw driver short the Gate and Drain pins, This will completely discharges the internal capacitance of the MOSFET,

Now connect the Black probe of DMM to the Drain of the MOSFET, and the Red probe of DMM to the Source of the MOSFET, You should see an "OL" reading on the DMM.

Now keeping the Red probe of DMM touched to the Source, lift the Black probe of DMM from Drain and just touch it to the Gate of the MOSFET and bring it back to the Drain pin.
This time the DMM shows Continuity reading, This confirms the MOSFET is OK.

You can construct Test jigs specified in this video for checking N-channel MOSFET's and P-channel MOSFET's efficiently.
