What is difficult to assess is when using parts from another aircraft is the type of stresses that the part endured and the time those parts suffered under such stresses. Even when using recertified parts the amount of testing and compliance values are vastly different. The part can even be mechanically or physically identical to your failed part but that part was issued to another craft with different loads apply. By doing this "swap" and not identifying the replaced part or logging it, the plane can suffer internal damage and a catastrophic incident can occur.

There are very few new parts available to Russia. Yes, there will be some parts bypassing the sanctions BUT things like brakes, and other relatively high consumables are certainly in LOW SUPPLY. Sanctions have a negative effect, to what extent is speculation, seeing the incident rates increase in Russia certainly suggests there is proof of the effect.

Putin really didn't think this invasion through. I'm sure he doesn't get much sleep at night.
