fun fact, you can also force it to happen on older kernels by catting the hwrng file to /dev/null. i was one of the people bisecting the kernel for this issue :)

Well, that explains what I was seeing on Fedora for so long. It didn't happen often enough to be anything more than annoying. The motherboard also was never going to get an update (thanks ASUS for your garbage support). I've not had an issue with it since changing motherboards.

the patch was added into 6.3/6.2/6.1-LTS a couple of hours ago, it should be shipped out next week.
(btw, I am one of the testers in this patch, and I am delighted to work with kernel developers!)

Hey Brodie, thank you so much, I've had that for weeks. Eventually went back to using 6.0 even though it's EOL. I should do the bios update and can't wait for 6.2 patches. Cheers.

It was happening for about the last week or so. I have a Gigabyte DS3H Wifi mobo and there was a BIOS update on 9th Feb. That fixed it.

Had been noticing those stutters recently, and just chalked it up to me messing something up. Glad to hear a fix is on the way.

I did not have system stutters, but I had a problem with random system crashes. It turns out it was a long forgotten problem of the first Ryzens (I have Ryzen 3 1200). So after countless hours of troubleshooting, I updated my bios and changed one setting there and it was fixed. I did not have any more problems since.
