Their 1982 album No Stranger To Danger was their breakout release here in Canada with the popular tune heard here, Eyes Of A Stranger. Payola$ (yes the last letter "S" was made into a dollar sign as a joke about the record company's in the 60's paying radio stations to play certain artists, hence the eventual name change to Rock & Hyde at the insistence of U.S. labels)
This was a band consisting of a gentleman I suspect is better known in the 90's and beyond for his producing credits (though he had been producing local bands throughout the late 70's and through the 80's)...for better or worse. That gentleman in question some of you will know by the band. Yes, none other than Bob Rock whom was a co-founder of Payola$ with Paul Hyde from England who's family had moved to Canada when he was a teenager. This album and the follow-up also featured one Mick Ronson on keys (who also produced the album).
The band would go on to release several albums under the name Payola$, but as I mentioned, eventually change to Rock & Hyde for the record company wigs.
