Also, be aware of the power load the inline wattmeter itself takes. I've seen that some brands take as much as an amp (secretly) to run .

Your individual requirements will vary a lot. My radios are mostly handheld or mobiles, plus an oldish Toshiba Portege lappy and some Android phones with Meshtastic and now playing with Rattlegram which looks very useful. I have a 2.4kva 240vac genset and a couple of small 800w gensets. But the house has 7kw of solar and a 14kwh battery. So if we prune the load, we could likely manage close 24 hour ops most days and make up any shortfall with a genset. If we had to bug out, we'd be restricted to gensets and some smaller solar panels which would be adequate for low drain equipment.
