Amen, but what Jesus is building his church on isn't Peter, but the revelation that Jesus is the son of God.

Peter is the small rock, but the mountain base upon which the church is built is the confession of faith, not Peter. The church is built upon the foundation of that apostles and the prophets, with Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.

Easy. He was separating Himself. All the others answered prophets. Peter’s revelation given to Him shows that He is the Holy King. He is a prophet, He is not any different than the religious figures. He has to be the King. Who selects His people, who then receive His orders and goes out and establishes to the rest of the world. He is a King with a kingdom. Where there is a domain and the King is present. It’s now a kingdom. Jesus also had to die in order for us to receive the Holy Spirit. Gods promise. That’s Gods divine Spirit that now resides within. Which makes us walking talking living breathing Kingdoms. The Holy Spirits duty is to govern our lives so we look just like our Heavenly Father and be witnesses to His kingdom not with words but in doing. None of this could be if Jesus was only a prophet. It would place Him in the same category of religion like buddha, Muslim, Hinduism. But Jesus is no religion. He is the Holy King who sits on high and none can match Him.
