Use-by or Best-By are not safety dates. You can still consume days after. Expiry Date on the other hand… best not to.

Actually for milk... While there is a best by date...
If you have or had actually opened it for quite awhile despite the expiry still being longer... It will still spoil as it is if you do not touch it for awhile.

“Best before” means you can still eat but the quality is not as good, but if labelled “Use by” then must throw after the date for safety reasons.
