We talk about a zombie apocalypse like they’d actually be able to survive…
1st the body in humid hot areas (Florida, Louisiana, Georgia) would decompose too quickly to be a real threat. The idea of a zombie is they are dead but reanimated, not vampiric where they are undead (between living and dead). No heart beat to pump blood or regulate body temps means quick decaying. In cold areas, zombies would freeze and not be able to move, possibly ever. The brain is considerably damaged from extreme cold and wouldn’t be able to host a virus or fungus to control the body.
All in all, people would barely notice the “apocalypse”, the trauma from the massive deaths and having loved ones turn/die would be the real result. As long as we prevent the contagion from massively spreading (which Covid showed people are stupid, and may not help contain it) then this would pass in under a year or so.
In a walking dead situation where everyone is inherently infected and has the possibility of turning after death is also easily defeated by a bullet in the head when dead; it appears you do have a few minutes all the way to hours before turning. Again, making this less apocalyptic

Theyd also rot and decay fairly quickly, wouldn't take all that long for zombies to simply have not enough muscle still attached to move
So outside of the initial infection, you really only need to go somewhere warm for a few months

Spiderwebs are penicilin and medicine is still usable for a while after its expiration date. You take some spider webs and some bread, the soft bit from the inside, knead it together and you can put it on a wound.

yeah, penyciline isn't realy hard to make, it's basically moldy bread
(you'd need a bit of steps I don't remember to ensure you have the good mold, but yeah, if you have access to wheat field, you have easy and unlimited access to penyciline, and then you're rich (or a very valuable target depending on how well you can defend yourself)

Depending on the type of zombie your world has and the climate of your area most zombies will be entirely too decomposed to hurt you within a month.
