Hi Bruce mate, wow that’s crazy the amount of dead mites you got there, I’ve just used apivar strips for the first time this season and had similar results it’s unbelievable that amount of mites are in our hives, this has been a strange season this year with all the aggravation I had earlier in the year trying to get virgin queens mated plus my honey harvest was nothing to shout about and with the wasps attacking my colonies in biblical numbers and still are now the late ivy flow is going strong this late in November my hives should all be well bedded down for the winter over here in the UK I’ve got to say craziest year in all my time keeping bees , here’s hoping it’s only a one off. Thx for posting Bruce mate.

That was a massacre, we will have to bring you up on murder charges. I'll bet you are going to claim self-defense and say you're protecting the helpless bees. That will be tough, because everyone that has had picnics outside knows that bees give you a wicked punch.

OA sure does a number! Bees shrug it off, so much so that my "mite check" is to hit the hive with OA and check the white board. Would rather count dead mites then dump dead bees.
