Animals toughness always amazes me. This past deer season I had got a bad shot off at a buck from about 150 feet with my 20Ga. Got him through the hind quarters. Didnāt figure heād get too far before heād lay down and die, he was bleeding a lot. But I walked after him for about two hours, probably 2 or so miles off from where I shot him and not a sign of him anywhere. I had gotten too far off the property I was hunting and too far to get him out if I did find him so I had to let him go unfortunately, didnāt want to. But could you imagine getting shot through the hip with a 20 Ga and running 3+ miles while blood is pouring onto the ground?! Crazy. Theyāre just so tough. Have a lot of respect for them. And Iām sure he didnāt get away completely or go to waste. Willing to bet the coyotes got the best of him come nightfall.
