I had a neighbour like that. She tried to claim that she & her husband owned the land at the end of our garden (They do not)& told me to get the beautiful large tree at the bottom of the garden cut down because it was dropping leaves over the fence into her garden.
I refused because the tree was beautiful & gave us privacy. Then when we eventually moved out I told the new family moving in about her. Sure enough she tried the same thing on with them, but since I had already warned them what she was like they told her that she did not own the land & that the tree would be staying....... That was years ago, and the tree is still there! 😅😂

Girl, I felt that, I live in a community with an HOA and we got a letter sent to our house with a fine because our trashcans were visible from the road. Not that they were in the road or even near it, that they were VISIBLE.

Don't plant bamboo unless you want to grow a forest in your neighborhood. They grow fast like wild weeds, that being said, the privacy it provides is lovely gal.

Dude i have neighbors like that. They moved in like three years ago (mind you my mom and i have been in this house for a decade) and the second they moved in they called my mom from the fence and asked her to cut down our three giant maples down bc she didnt want to have leaves in her pool. When my mom refused she ended up hiring a gardening service to cut all the branches that crossed the fence line into her backyard without telling us about it. In the same week she used acid to kill the ivy that had been growing on the fence for years (it went across three houses) and then wanted my mom to pay to replace the old fence afterwards. These are the same neighbors who also mocked my mom and i when we were speaking spanish in our backyard and who constantly have their outdoor tv blaring football and hockey reruns.

Growing up I had to rake my neighbors front lawn cause our trees leaves would fall over a bit but he would also cut the bamboo along our back fence if it leaned over a little and just chuck it over the fence into our backyard
