A hawk swooped into our yard looking for its next meal and all the little birds feeding, scattered. One bird hit our front glass storm door so hard it knocked it out. I immediately went out to scare the hawk away and was able to rescue the little bird, but its little body was limp and lifeless, eyes closed.

I placed it in a tub on top of a soft towel hoping he was just stunned. I left it alone and checked on it about 10 minutes later, still just laying there but then suddenly he turned his head and looked at me! I didn’t want to startle him so I layed the lid sideways on top with open airways on the side.

I checked a few minutes later and he was flapping around like nothing happened! After a quick evaluation he seemed perfectly fine! Time to release him!

I placed the lid on top and carried the tub out to the middle of the yard so he wouldn’t hit anything on his way out. Goodbye little bird!!! He even came back to visit (aka eat birdseed)! 🙂

**🕊️ For bird safety I have decals on my windows & glass doors but sometimes birds still can’t stop in time. Still a good idea to put on your windows, especially if you have bird feeders in your yard. The decals can be found on Amazon. 😁**
