For the record; as per RIOT, the Noxus cinematic was NOT a trailer for a spin off series. It was test footage. People are "Speculating" that it was. RIOT stated that it was not.

Katarina and Elise is in the future or rather present runetera timeline since that scene was at a Black Rose event called "Masque of the black rose" which is also a skin line in league. In each champions bio theres a lore especially the ones with Elise since she was instructed to held the event to gather important people and make them join the black rose. As for Katarina she's sided with Swain and the scene in the cinematic was one of her missions, this further elaborated in the short comic.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Noxus' arc lead into Demacia. We know Katarina and her connection to Garen will have to come up somewhere.

I don’t think Mel herself is going to be the only main character. I guess because she’s by herself in the cinematic, people might think she’s the main character but I really hope not the other ones deserve them more or at least equally.

Because this isn't actually a trailer for the show but more as test footage remade into a teaser for the new noxus league season, trundle dying (probs knocked out) doesn't matter as the lore shown doesn't need to match up to the show itself

It's going to be so hard to capture the same magic we had in Arcane. The way the characters captured our hearts and we got so attached is crazy. It's so hard to get people that invested, so I hope wherever this next series takes us, they can build more relationships like that with new characters.
