After the first fitting we installed a corset back, then in our second fitting we addressed how the bust was sitting and pinned out our bust darts.
If we had tried to pin her bust while the dress didn’t fit we would have ended up pulling WAY too much into our darts (or too little, but in general just pinning inaccurately) and we would have had to repin then anyway.
Some alterations are best done in stages.
