so just a heads up for anyone who sees this, all Motorola phones are carrier unlocked, and you can get them directly from the manufacturer. they also offer OEM replacement parts such as screens and batteries.

Try another sim in it. I bought a Google pixel straight talk phone from Walmart and my cricket sim card works great in it. It even gets the security updates too!

At that point, I could tell this was one of those US grocery store prepaid phones that's cheap because it's locked to a specific service provider, so someone buying such a phone would also need to check coverage and prepaid plans with that provider. I searched online, and to give you an idea of the value, the unlocked version of that phone, the Moto G55, sells for around $380 (SGD) in Singapore, however I've seen from other YouTube videos that these service providers would sometimes customise them to lower the price further, like how one of those had a Galaxy Stardust that, from YouTube comments I read, appeared to be a cut-down version of a Galaxy Ace Style.

Straight talk isn't bad if you've got two or three lines and you can get there group pricing, but their customer service is absolutely atrocious.

Straighttalk is far from expensive. I've been using it since 2013. My husband, my daughter and I all have a 3 line plan together. Costs $95 a month for all three of us combined. I have the 2024 razr through straighttalk and only had to pay 399 for it
