Hey, I’m Jeuelyfish and here's a random gungeon fact about the punch-out phase of resourceful rat boss battle

You may already know the rat punch-out game has three sections, where you proceed from one section to the next by deleting his health bar to zero from your punches

And that you can at certain times
not only do damage to his health bar but also
collect a “super punch star” - which is displayed on the top right of the screen - by punching him at specific times.


These stars allow you to perform a special attack
different than your regular left // right jabs
that's called a “special super punch” -
and the more stars you have the more damage the punch does.

But did you know that this “special super punch” can completely drain whatever HP is left in the rat's health bar if you use it just as he is performing his tail-spin attack?

The rat only does this attack during the 2nd and 3rd section of the punch out game, but if you’re struggling with winning punchout and are okay with not collecting all the rat keys - this is a much easier way of completing the final phase of the rat battle and getting your victory screen.

Also, bonus random fact, if you defeat the rat in a punch-out, a pair of golden boxing gloves will appear in your breach hanging from one of the beds.
