For those paying attention to the details of the video, the reason the nation landed early on into two parties was because the two sides were debating the two ends of a binary spectrum for how the government ought to operate. In theory, and I'd bet the Founders expected this, over time the best balance of state and federal power would emerge from debate and testing and adjustment, and eventually the issue would fade, opening things up to a more nuanced political landscape in which the rise and fall of various issues in the spotlight would lead to varied political groupings of people.
They might not be shocked that future Americans basically defaulted to the simplistic two party system, but they'd probably be disappointed. And if they listened to the massive downgrade in quality of political argument (not even from their time to today, but from the mid-20th century to today), they would probably be rather crestfallen, though pleased to see that their carefully crafted structure and constitution have held up exceedingly well.
