This new low-power mode, released in watchOS 9.1, allows the Apple Watch uLtra to last to 60 hours, but in order to do so you will need to sacrifice:
– the always-on display
– Reduced cellular connectivity to only update hourly
– Limited background features like irregular heart rate notifications and auto-workout detection
– Reduced heart rate measurements to once per minute, and GPS updates to once every 2 mins
– Reduced distance and pace updates to once every 1-2 minutes
– No running power measurements
– No running efficiency metrics like vertical oscillation and ground contact time
– Reduced altimeter readings
– No splits or segments– and no alerts

Seems like a decent idea for long trips. I think I spent 35 hours in total returning from Australia so yeah that would have been a plus.
