I'm getting ready to film a new YouTube series called: "Get Ready Now"

The objective with each episode is to share with you how I am dialing in my communications preps. My hope is that you will join me and take action now.

In the first episode, I'll share with you how I am programming my HT radios to:

1. Provide local communication
2. Build an information gathering system
3. Support interoperability with other radio services
4. Consistently program different radios so that they work together
5. Scan local news, weather, traffic, and first responder traffic.

THANKS FOR THIS! Working on an overarching communications plan is absolutely fundamental! It took me a long time working as a telecommunications specialist for a disaster response team to finally realize that communications starts with a plan. In the scenario I was dealt it consisted of these steps: Determine the Incident Command structure, draw out the lines on communication connecting the flow chart, and then finally, from that information, one knows which equipment is needed for each link. I’m REALLY INTERESTED in your perspective on this, as it is totally different than the tight and rigorous structure I faced. I’ve valued ALL of your advice. Really looking forward to this series.

There's the IC7200, makes me smile TP. It was the 3rd radio I bought, when I got into HF. In fact it sits next to me now on my desk. I still want the handles though. I can only find them in the EU.

Do you have template lists of how you order your repeaters and other need-to-have-frequencies?
