My cross-country flight was CANCELED just HOURS before a WORLD PREMIERE. I was in LA for Anime Expo... Just a TINY little con you MAY have heard of... and my ORIGINAL plan was to catch your RED EYE to New York and walk the Dexter: Resurrection carpet that SAME day. But while I was enjoying a SUNNY day at Universal Studios Hollywood, I got a rather unfortunate notification: New York was getting SLAMMED by storms, and the auto rebooked flight for the next day would get me there AFTER the premiere... FORCING me to book a NEW, slightly UNHINGED route: a redeye flight to Miami, followed by a MORNING flight to New York. Because why not fly THOUSANDS of miles out of the way just to get there a FEW hours earlier? It was a night of chaos, delays, gate changes, and a CRUEL amount of false hope. And honestly, EVERY step felt like it might fall apart. But somehow... we eventually made it to New York. And with just MINUTES to spare, I hit the carpet and caught the thrilling first episode of Dexter: Resurrection. in a theater full of die hard fans. Turning a canceled flight into one killer night.
