📹 Normally I don’t script my videos — I speak from the heart, because immigration is what I know and love. But this one… was hard. Finding the words wasn’t easy.

⚠️ Here’s what’s changing:

1️⃣ CPLP – It will no longer be possible to enter Portugal and apply for a residence permit under CPLP rules after arrival.

2️⃣ Family Reunification –
Major changes here:
🔹 Only immigrants living in Portugal legally for 2+ years can request family reunification.
🔹 Applications must be made from the country of origin.
🔹 Couples will need to prove they lived together abroad.
🔹 Minors already in Portugal must have entered legally, live with the applicant, and be dependent.
🔹 Processing time may go from 90 days to 270, with possible extensions to 540 days.

3️⃣ What happens now?
🖋️ The President has 20 days to act. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said he may send the law to the Constitutional Court, if it raises legal doubts.

“Does it respect the Constitution? If yes, I won’t send it. If not — or if I have serious doubts — I will.”
