What the Dunk lost, the Meg gained.

Seems like a prehistoric tiger shark with the size of a whale, amazing.

Shit now we have to edit all those Megalodon 'sightings' to fit the current knowledge about them!

Honestly makes more sense. The problem with it being a chunky boy means it’s more difficult for it to swim right?…… but with a longer body, it’s even faster, and more deadly.

….which makes it WAY more terrifying….

Makes sense, Mosasaurus was long and slender as was Basilosaurus. All three animals are different kinds of vertebrates but all likely occupied very similar niches, so makes sense that they’d share similarities in body shape

Yeah the old thicc meg looks very unnaturally shaped, the new one has much more normal looking proportions

You've heard of thicc T-Rex, 🦖 now get ready for slim Meggy.

It's weird how the old depiction immediately looks wrong after finding out it should be longer.

Meg's new shape and size estimation reminds me of fin whale, which nicknamed "greyhound of the sea" for its speed
I wonder maybe megalodon also being a fast swimmer

A beast evolved to hunt down whales and other large marine mammals would certainly be huge.

This is really interesting and cool considering the fact that most megalodon depictions and artist depictions are just bulkier and bigger Great Whites. (I think).

Just because we found it to be longer doesn’t mean that it has a slender body, it could’ve been long and bulky you know.

It makes sense, if you’re that big and you’re a fish… you’re gonna want to be a lot more streamlined. Lol

Considering how it's closest relative today is the shortfin mako, this makes absolutely more sense than just a bigger great white.

Looks a lot cooler like this

But still a similar girth, that is insane. Every year this thing gets scarier.

The new bodyshape looks more threatening to be honest
