A few years ago, we had an opportunity to interview ex-poachers in Manas National Park. Even though there were many beautiful things and experiences we had during our trip in Bodoland @bodoland.ambassadors , this story had stuck with me for so long.

What crosses their minds as they extinguish the life of an innocent creature? What tumultuous emotions swirl within these individuals? Is there a twisted pleasure derived from killing these beautiful beings?

And is there a glimmer of hope for redemption among these individuals? Can they transition from perpetrators to protectors? Throughout India, tales abound of poachers metamorphosing into staunch conservationists, standing as guardians of the very wildlife they once hunted. This transformative journey is precisely what unfolded before us during our time in Manas National Park.

The series Poacher on @primevideoin got back all those feelings that I felt when I spoke to an ex-poacher. Bringing the 2015 incidents to life, the series was gut-wrenching and it was one of the best I have watched in recent times. Highly recommend it.
