This reminds me about how Tetracycline - an antibiotic - can stain bones a fluorescent yellow and Minocycline - typically used for chronic acne -stains bone dark green.

It's pretty cool to think that I (and other lab rats) use Alizarin red, a key dye component in madder, to stain the calcium in calcified tissue samples, we also use it in diaphonization protocols of specimens in addition to Alcian blue which stains the cartilaginous tissue of the skeletal structure which makes them really pretty 💕
