That was some serious flutter on the trim tab for the vertical stabilizer. Galloping Ghost had flutter-induced failure in the trim tab of the horizontal stabilizer, which had been tasked with twice the stress that it would normally see because the trim tab on one side was removed for drag reduction.

A rudder trim tab failure had nothing to do with Jimmy Leewards crash. That was an elevator trim tab. But a rudder trim tab failure is what caused Gary Levitz crash in Miss Ashley. Love your vids, love you stuff just want to make sure everyone has the proper info. No disrespect intended. Keep up the good work my man : )

Different trim tab problem than in 2011. . . The rudder trim tab was what was having trouble on the YAK, not on Galloping Ghost.

The loss of the trim tab on Galloping Ghost caused the plane to pitch up violently at about 20 G's
This would have caused an almost instant GLOC, the pilot would have lost conciseness before he realized he was experiencing high G forces.
The plane crashed before the pilot regained consciousness. He never even had a chance to direct the aircraft away from the people on the ground.
