The Tie Out Method: This simple yet effective dog training method with teach your dog how and when to be calm
STEP 1️⃣ Tie a knot at the end of your dog’s leash and put it either under their crate door or under any general door in your house and close the door to keep them secure. The leash will naturally pull them into the down.
STEP 2️⃣ Take some of your dog’s food and throw it out in front of them as a distraction. Your dog will try to get it. As soon as they give up on getting the food and back away from it, reward them with love!
STEP 3️⃣ The goal for this technique is to teach your dog to know that the way they’re going to get what they want isn’t by being forceful and pushy BUT by being calm and attentive.
STEP 4️⃣ Once your dog is calm, reward with food and love!
