Assassin's Creed Shadows is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. The game is the fourteenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the successor to 2023's Assassin's Creed Mirage, as well as the first title to be included in the Assassin's Creed: Infinity platform.
Set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period, the game will focus on the millennia-old struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control, from the perspective of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name. The two characters control differently and provide a unique gameplay style, allowing quests to be approached in multiple ways.
Shadows is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, macOS, and iPadOS on February 14, 2025.

Tsushima was widely regarded as one of the best games for japanese culture. Even raking in charitable donations to restore some of its historical monuments. Its actually quite impressive what a game can do. Then to see ubisoft and how poorly its doing... yikes.

Yes, all AC characters through the years were fictional but the heritage was based on the location the past.
If you are a true AC Fan don’t just the companies nonsense just because you want the game out quickly.
I’m not the only one who thinks these Yasuke wasn’t a samurai, the community of blacks who love the games even the Japanese who love the game.
No one knows more about federal Japan than the Japanese.
Ubisoft just put in Yasuke for clout and points from a certain community.

For the record I feel bad for anyone that poured artistic energy into this game that seems to be caught in this. I understand what its like to just want to make things people enjoy. It has to feel like having embarrassing parents. Ubisoft isn't the most consumer friendly and very formulaic which is my largest gripe about the studio. I hope this investigation leads to a 180 and things course correct.
