Unfortunately, the answer is no. But why? Because the water from this giant bucket wouldn't reach the surface of the Sun at all. As it gets closer, the water will evaporate from the Sun's heat before it even touches the Sun's outer layer, the corona.
The Sun's corona layer alone is 2 million degrees Celsius. So the water from this magic bucket will all evaporate before it can kill the Sun.
This vaporized water also wouldn't block the Sun's rays for very long because the volume of water is very small compared to the volume of the Sun. At best, it would create a thin cloud that would quickly dissipate in the space winds.
So in conclusion, the only way to extinguish the Sun is to wait for the hydrogen fuel in the Sun's core to run out, which takes a very long time. It could take up to 5 billion years!
