The customer probably really only cares about the end result. That's what they're paying for. If the end result is the same in 1 hour as in 6, then don't sweat it.

No …. You’re not selling time you’re selling the job.

Great questions. I have never charged more, but I have charged less.

@AustinDavis24 you are a professional.Im sure the results were outstanding. Once you’ve perfected your skills and sharpened your technique it’s gonna go quick. You’ve upheld your end of the bargain and cleaned the property to the best of your ability. Don’t feel bad it’s a done deal. Keep killing it!!!

If your bid is an estimate based on hours, then give a second wash as a follow up in 6 months. If you bid based on the end result, then, you provided what they requested and you’re done!

How many houses were included in that job?
25,000 sq ft! I would have charged more! If we get done early, it’s still the quoted price. If we are behind schedule, I count it a mistake on my part, and I can’t have the customer pay for my mistakes.

They paying for end result. Experience, and equipment are a huge factor. I’d say the time doesn’t matter, if it takes longer than expected that’s not the customers fault, it would be the business owners judgement on the quote.

I don’t feel bad, they’re paying for the service and agreed to that price.
Would I charge more if it took longer than I bid it for, no definitely not, unless the scope was changed or additional items were added.

Price of a job is the price but you could always give them a bit of a discount and that could in result more jobs in the future

When downstreaming, is it strong enough to bleach the wood?

@bobcole612

I wouldn’t. The price I bid is the price I charge. Whether I takes longer or shorter. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, you’re still paying for gas & mileage to drive there, cost to buy equipment, maintenance and depreciation, and chemicals and materials. Those things don’t change if it only takes an hour. Price is based on the job, not the hour.

Imagine you pay to watch a UFC fight and all fighters finish in the first round...should we get a portion of our money back???

I would’ve been so scared to wash around all that wood 🪵

This is an EXCELLENT example of not charging per sqft. 1750/hr. You did have extra guys but each of those were probably $200 each at most?

I feel like when your doin it fast that's the difference in quality and having the right equipment. 🤙s.t.f.o

@joshd7565

No definitely would not lower the price. You bid it and they accepted it. Sometimes it takes longer than you bit, sometimes it shorter. When it takes you less time you’ve made out and there’s not a damn thing wrong with that period. A business doing work by “cost and material” will never succeed. Plain and simple
