Good video. Always tell them to add the stop through the app! They could mess up your next ride(s) or get you deactivated pretending to be scared like you tried to kidnap them.

I am a truck driver and I needed to run to a couple of places in a rural area and it was hard to find an Uber finally I got one so I called the driver and said I would pay $40 cash if they take me to those places and back to the truck stop and he did that day that driver was a blessing besides I’d rather have the money go directly to the driver when possible

I had a guy ask me to stop at a store. I asked him to add a stop. He couldn’t figure out how to add, so I stopped at a store anyways. The store ended up being closed. We went straight to his destination after that. I didn’t expect anything but he still gave me a generous $10 tip.

I think in a situation like this, I might ask the customer, “you know, I know you’re supposed to add a stop in the app, and that will cost you extra money, but if you would rather just adjust your tip to cover that, I’ll just make the stop anyway. Do you want to do that?” Then she’s going to feel obligated for a tip. But it won’t be awkward, like you’re just asking for a tip.

Where I live everyone expects me to just stop but no one tips… so it depends on my mood and whether it’s out of the way.

I deal with this daily. Most of the time people do not tip. The worst is when they say I will tip you on the app and they never do.

I spoke to an uber driver that’s been driving for nearly 10 years. He told me at one point Uber was paying out 70 percent of the fare. Now he’s lucky to get 35 percent of the total fare

From my 40k ride experience, these types never tip. So I always ask them to add a stop. And I decline 98% of multiple stop requests.

It always costs the driver if the stop isn’t added to the trip. It’s the same as generic addresses that aren’t the exact location, you can easily end up driving hundreds of yards further there and back that Uber hasn’t billed the customer for.

In my country (Croatia) we have Uber but rarely people actually tip but not because they are bad people but because its very uncommon to tip for anything in my country. Same with waitress they do their job, thats it there is no tipping part at all maybe in rare occasions if you are asking for special services or its a special occasion but most of the time, no tipping is a common thing. Because in my country people get paid not on commission basis but monthly check , so I guess they don't need tips. Although with that said our economy isn't good at moment so payments are very low unless you want to work overtime to make more money. Hard times. 😅

I'd rather tip or etransfer the driver. They make more money that way. But I understand that's higher risk for the driver. Usually I'll just negotiate a tip at the beginning and they're usually happy with that

But then she should've tipped xtra WITHOUT SAYING. Ppl dont think, and ppl will just take and NOT care about others, sucks. There are considerate, kind, thoughtful, empathetic ppl... But.... It's leas common statistically, specially after the pandemic. Sad but true 😞

The fact that she didn't tip anything at all, especially after asking you to do her a favor is absolutely absurd. So extremely rude.
