To be fair there's a lot of things that went into play on this. First three games doesn't really make kratos a bad villain or anything like that the first game gives us the idea of what kratos's backstory was which was the the fault of Aries then getting his revenge by killing Aries. Of course in the second God of war game where he pushes his limits with the gods they decide to banish him making him a bit of mix of good and evil. He doesn't exactly kill everyone out of his way but he does go through a lot of trial and trouble to get to the sisters of Fate to undo his own death. So the second game you can call me maybe an antihero or antivillain. The third game on the other hand definitely kratos going full villain killing almost all the gods and people in creating all kinds of chaos to get revenge against Zeus. By the end of the game he tries to kill himself and hoped it under his mistakes. But we all know what happens next
