Future reference... Run your lines down to snatch blocks, then out for straight out to your recovery victim. All though that unit likely has dual, 20k winches, the boom does not with any side ways pull, even past a few degrees, like pulling in that suctioned in rig. It did fine this time, and likely many more times, but is a good practice to get into, putting all that stress in the wheel lift or frame hooks. Cool video though.

Maybe get u a block that hooks on ur bumper to run ur winch cables down and get em lower safer and have a much better pull angle
All while taking 90% of the stress off the wrecker boom.
I seen a buddy do it with his 449 Holmes boom set up
On a ford 450 back in 1976. Way more effective than straight off a high boom

Towman did he ever put it in low range? I remember driving one though a lot worse conditions than that. First step is drop air pressure down to single digits before getting into the mud. 1st gear low range should haven't been a problem, if starting to sink throw in reverse creep out. I guess it might be years of experience driving them, a buddy of mine who was riding with me driving asked me if I ever used the clutch while driving on roads. I guess that's why I got 200k on stock clutch in my Jeep years later.
