It's fine. I sometimes put a finger in each side and feel around for the end in the middle, but "yarn barf" happens.

So the wrong end is tucked in from the outside. Go to the opposite end and reach in center just a little. Tada! Works 8 out of 10 then you really have it.

A very experienced knitter told me to NEVER pull from the center. The outside...ALWAYS. The struggle is over.😊

I never do the center pull I just grab the piece that is on top and start rolling for my balls. I guess there’s always a different way to do things.
