What I always think is such a testament to her skill is that all her kitchens are so incredibly different -reflecting the character they represent perfectly âŚwhile simultaneously also being instantly recognizable as Myersâ work.
-& I think that that is the true draw for those obsessive fans: not just the opulence of a Myers kitchen (or even what that metaphorically represents -that richness and abundance of that characterâs âheartâ, because the kitchen is the heart-center of the home) but specifically our own deep desire to be seen in that way.
She gets at, what I think, is one of our collective deepest desires: to be truly seen as our best selves -both aesthetically and for our best qualities.
(I mean, it also begs examining that weâre so into seeing these women as kitchensâŚ)

Production and set design are literally part of filmmakingâŚ. why would she think itâs discounting her filmmaking to call out specific aspects of her filmmaking that we admire? Thatâs like a director not wanting to discuss the editing in their filmsâŚ. Films are a multifaceted art form
