I followed you through my own personal teeth journey where I had an issue with an old bridge as a kid which was compromised and had to have my entire top teeth taken out within a day (14 teeth counting the front bridge I had since age 15 and am now 37) it was excruciating and I went through the max amount of anesthesia my first visit with 11 teeth done but now I am doing so much better and had my temp for 6 months and finally have my permanent teeth for 2 months now and it has changed my life. Your videos made this whole process easier to understand when I was aware of things prior. Love the Bentist

Finally got braces a month ago. Smiling more than I did without them.. I'd still smile but not wide enough unless someone caught me laughing or like a school photo but I always felt self conscious of my teeth. I never thought to hide my teeth with my tongue though. Seems like a lot of work. Proud I was able to save up for braces on my own though! Estimated 18-22 months. Wish me luck! π

Lost all my top teeth to addiction and not caring properly for my teeth, I was in so much pain daily it gave me an excuse to use more and to use for longer, to numb the unbareable pain. Until I was told by my lovely amazing old dentist (transfered now π’) told me they couldn't pull the painful broken teeth and my wisdom etc. Until I had no drugs in my system, ironically, it was what got me sober over 4 years ago!
I have dentures now, but they're ill-fitting and painful. Someday, I hope I'll be able to afford implants. All the top and most of the bottom. They're so expensive and worth every penny, but I will never take a smile for granted again. Even when I'm wearing my dentures, I still cover my mouth with my hand when I'm talking or smiling, and I imagine I'll do that for the rest of my life. Being on the other side, the patient, having a dentist that cares and listens and is as happy if not happier than the patient when treatment is done, makes a scary and uncertain situation so much easier. We need more dentist and doctors in general like you β€
Before I lost my teeth, looking back at pictures, I used to smile with my tongue poking through between my top and bottom teeth but not covering them lol. I remember my childhood dentist told me it would cause an overbite from how often I was pushing my tongue to my teeth when smiling or swollowing, etc. And of course, he was 100% correct, lol. It's amazing how you guys can predict and fix, and prevent. I wish I could go back and take all the advice and sober up before I lost them.
The confidence lost when a REAL looking full smile is gone is devastating. I'm very fortunate to have dentures. But I can't afford the bottom because my insurance won't cover the partial it needs so I can barely eat with them in, since the only 2 points that meet are in the front and makes them pop out in the back, even with the glue. π I do wish dentures could look more like real teeth. Not so straight and white and perfect. They don't match the teeth I have left. Other ppl say they can't tell. I'm sure they can't, but for me, it's all I see, and I'm almost more insecure with them in.
Someday, though, I'll win the lottery and spend it all in implants, lol
