I just compromised and said cloth diaper at home, disposables while travelling. It was just getting in the way of us enjoying trips. Most of our trips were visitng and staying with family who use fabric softener which has built up in their machine so i didnt want my diapers to absorb the built up fabric softener and ruin the absorbancy. The fabric softener has ruined their towels, you can try to get the washcloth wet in the shower and water intially just pours off of the cloth without being absorbed, try to dry yourself with a bath towel after and you're still wet 😅

I'm not a huge fan of Airbnb because I feel like they really contribute to the housing crisis. It's tough choices when traveling, no "perfect" option.

Because of YOU, I've decided to use cloth diapers. Not a full plastic free home(yet), But we are working words that and becoming as sustainable as possible. And I did my own independent research on cloth diapers along with your videos and I'm Sold. I already have several in my Amazon wish list(I looked local and no one near me makes nor sells them 😢

They usually have communal washing machines (like a mini laundry mat) at hotels. I stayed at a hotel this summer when a hurricane hit our area and was glad they had them too because we had to stay several days before we could go back home.

That’s kinda gross that you are washing poopy diapers in someone’s washers. Those things sometimes get clogged with poop afterwards.

In my area, it’s actually usually WAY cheaper to get an AirBnB. To be fair, we only every vacation is pretty remote areas so the BnBs are usually one room cabins 😂

Girl, just get a wet bag 🥲 it’s not natural fabrics, I know, but you can keep cloth diapers for a week and wait until you are home or get enough amount of t to save water from laundr

I have celiac disease so me and my husband are choosing air b n b 90% of the time because I need my own kitchen to cook. Otherwise I will get hotels and then live on hummus and fruit for days of the trip 😂

i used to bring them on trips. as long as there was access to a washing machine i was okay. did at least one load while there and a load when we came back (short trips less than 4 days). dusting baking soda to neutralize the odor helped a ton when we would come back from vacation. i would also immediately start the diaper laundry then lounge again after vacation. 😅

The amount of energy/water wasted on all these extra loads of laundry seems like it wouldn’t be great for the planet either. It’s kinda like two evils..

You could also just go to the closest laundromat.

Why not put the dirty diapers in the front trunk of the Tesla?

Depends where we are traveling and how long but (in my experience) cloth diapers work well for exclusively breastfed babies on the go but harder with a toddler that eats solids because a lot more goes into the care and they are much stinkier. They also take up so much room in the luggage.
