Hi, I used to have perfect pitch as I started piano lesson since 4 years old. I can hear the chords and pitch them out but I cannot remember what the letter name were the notes now. I've used a electronic keyboard as my practice instrument for 4years until grade 8 and it was not in tune. I'm trying to change my mind that 'this is not the note I'm thinking now' but it doesn't help much. On the other hand,my relative pitch keeps telling me the interval as a reference note which I can't really get to my perfect pitch. Is there any way to solve these kind of problems?

My instructor has been working on teaching me to tune by ear which has been an issue. After being unable to really compare the string sound to the tuner, she suggested I hum the note along with the tuner. It took awhile even with that, but I know when I get it right by some feeling in my head. A vibration is best I can describe it as, not from the vocal cords but a feeling within the brain. Though, I still have issues with then telling if my sting is sharp or flat and it takes a bit to zero in on notes humming, is this possibly on the path to at least strengthening my pitch and what you're describing with shapes and squeezing the notes?

I was ok with music when I was a kid and could press a piano button corresponding to a sound that I heard, but I never developed anything major because my parent's don't know anything about music and I didn't get any proper education.
I've also neglected it since puberty and now I'm 35 and bought a guitar and I suck...
I always had these "funny" connections when I hear single tones, like OOOO, IIIIII, EEEEEE, I think it's pretty accurate depending on the frequency, it gets connected in my brain as a vowel. I can't name the notes though because I've neglected everything for more than 20 years so I suck, also when I did learn something when I was a kid, it was do re mi fa so la ti do... and it was H instead of B, dur instead of major and mol instead of minor... it suck
I'm so behind that I don't even know how nor where to start, I hear people speaking about stuff like "major third, perfect fifth and I don't even know what all this means (even though I do know some theory behind it).

Does simply playing it louder give a glimpse of the PP sensation? I'm guessing not for single notes, but maybe playing one note louder, "emphasizing" just one note in a dyad? Or triad? Maybe that's a glimpse of the PP sensation? Also, do you see the head turning way of glimpsing PP as applicable to the dyad, triad situation? Maybe even: play & hold triad, turn ear this way, hear the A, turn ear that way, hear the A#, etc.?
