If you look along a northeasterly route from Sicily toward Siberia, you will see a large number of eliptical earth formations.
It's my hypothesis that at some point, a small asteroid shattered on its final trajectory phase.

I have had a thought or two over the years that this is what happened. It has never made sense to me that a single collision could have wiped out the dinosaurs in one shot.
