Absolutely nta, but the "Even if I were packing my daughter junk it wouldn't be your business" line really struck me the wrong way, because as a kind of guardian for the student, yes, it would be. Now that's obviously not the case, the daughter was being packed a perfectly healthy meal, and the teacher was out of line, but it would be her business if the daughter was just eating junk.

My husband says that more of the kids throw away the school lunches the kids get in school. I pack my granddaughters lunch, and I pack the similar stuff in her lunch. 2 sandwiches, apple, oranges, a bag of some kind of pretzels or chips, a drink.

The only time a teacher has any business commenting on a students food is if they have none. Or if a parent tries to get the teacher to buy the kid lunch from a restaurant and have it delivered to the school the teacher can say something. I have seen this happen and I’m still flabbergasted. Those are really the only times I can see why a teacher would have any say in what a kid eats.

Nta! 1 that is not an unhealthy lunch. 2 Not every family can even afford to pack their kids lunch and have to rely on school lunch that is all carbs and processed "meats". That kid is eating way better then I could do.

The teacher needs to mind their own business. You are sending a lunch with your child and you are sending her with what you know. She will eat no sense and sending a lot of food when you know the child is not gonna eat at all. Teacher, mind your own business.
