I personally think that studios should take one of two approaches.
1. If you're studio that's creating a cinematic/connected universe like the MCU, Skywalker Saga, DCEU, and the soon to be launched DCU, you should only announce phase 1 projects and then once phase 1 ends, you announce phase 2 projects and so on and so forth.
2. If you're a studio that's creating a or multiple cinematic/connected franchises like Disney Studios/Animation, Pixar, DreamWorks and Illumination, you should only announce one film at a time for each franchise as that will allow time for each film to be conceived with care and precision, as well as create wiggle room for unforseen delays and/or for one off projects to be conceived with equal care and precision.

Agreed. Announcing these movies too early just makes audiences extremely disappointed if it gets cancelled before they even start writing it.
