Herrerasaurus had some incredibly muscular arms, in spite of how long and thin they may look to us! With that reach, long claws, and flexible hands and wrists, these basal theropods were built for lashing and goring at their prey and other targets.

Check out our merch and support our videos! yourdinosaursarewrong.com/ There's always guesswork when it comes to soft tissues of fossil animals, but dinosaur's voices (or lack thereof?) have some particular difficulties.

The transitions between the animations are so good. I know that's like... Your profession, but as someone who studied editing and animation, I just want to say that all of it's so so so well done.

I just spent several minutes trying to figure out if I can move my wrist the same way as a Herrerasaurus.

Some might be old, new to me! Love the technical explanations; and the older videos offer chances to go back and update them with new ones if more recent data becomes available. Win for interested viewers.

Paleontologists can be so edgy at times
What do you mean you called your dinosaur "gore king" (lythronax)

Your full Herrerasaurus video made it one of my favorite dinosaurs that I learned about in recent memory. It’s such an interesting animal on its own, but especially with how it relates to the rest of the dinosaur family tree.

Is it possible herrarasaurus’s hands could have been used as specialized climbing or digging tools? Were there trees of sufficient size and quantity during its time to support a large arboreal predator? Maybe it hunted like a leopard.

There is a T-shirt idea in there, dinosaurs with big forearms in a group, looking at a T-rex :
"Do you even lift, bro ?".

When he was talking about how hands in general don't move in the same plane as the wrist, I was like, "Wait no, I do that," & I actually tested myself out & went "Yeah, it works, why'd he say that, AM I UNIQUE" & then he finished his point by saying that it was rare until birds arrived & then I just went "Oh."
