Thanks for differentiating between cognitive empathy and emotional empathy in regards to Autism. It’s so terribly misunderstood. It tends to paints those on the spectrum as indifferent to suffering.

The idea that only certain people have empathy is so fake. The idea that we do or don’t have empathy is bizarre.

Of course autism doesn't cause a person to kill their parents. Autistic people can have emotional empathy AND cognitive empathy as well as sympathy, sometimes in overwhelming amounts.

Autistic people like myself have slightly-alot (on a scale ) of expressed empathy but very high internal empathy to the point of dis-ability.
Narcissists and psychopaths lack empathy. I think narcissists can feel it: they just choose to turn it off.

Autism can instead give you more empathy, it's just that it's not displayed in a way that neurotypical likes. She didn't kill because of her Autism, it's because of something else.

If anyone cares to look into groups for "spouses of ASD," you will see all kinds of stories that greatly resemble narcissistic abuse and coercive control. The damages on the spouses are the same. It's been a decades old, unexplained phenomenon that no one cares (or dare) to talk about. It could be the problem of misdiagnosis, or that the autistic are more prone to develop antisocial behaviors as coping skills. The fact is no one dare to touch this topic.
