The Arabs brought that recipe. Itâs called el taco Ărabe. The Mexicans use the recipe and preparation for that certain taco. The Mexicans put their spices and veggies on it. What is nice about the Arabs is that they donât pretend that they invented tacos, like other groups would. Mexico gives credit where itâs due. The taco goes back to pre Colombian times when the tortilla was used as a spoon. Some ppl still make a scoop with a folded piece of tortilla as a spoon.

The story of shawarma begins with the Turkish tradition of roasting seasoned meat on a vertical or horizontal spit. The word çevirme literally means âturningâ or ârotatingâ in Turkish, referring to the slow rotation of meat over a fire. In the 19th century, chefs in Bursa (northwestern TĂŒrkiye) refined this technique into what became known as döner kebabı â a vertical rotating stack of lamb cooked by an open flame. This method allowed meat to stay juicy on the inside while gaining a crisp, flavorful exterior.
As the Ottoman Empire stretched across Southeast Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, its foodways traveled with it. Merchants, soldiers, and migrants introduced the döner-style cooking method across Arab lands, where it adapted to local tastes and ingredients. In Arabic-speaking countries, the Turkish term çevirme evolved into âshawarma,â derived from the same root meaning âturning.â
By the way in Spanish people call immigrants from middle east " Turco " which means Turkish.

He doesnât specify when he says âArabsâ and most here assumed Muslims. If I recall correctly it was Arab Christian coming to what was a Christian Country.
Yes the Middle East has a massive historical influence. It is the confluence of three great landmasses and ideas travelled through it.

Wow so many words for things other people invented! Amazing!
Including preparing meat that was forbidden in their religion!
So many useful and beneficial discoveries since then! So many novel prize winners, medicines, world changing technologies!
Their legacy has left behind so many productive and well adjusted societies!
